We rely on our monitoring to tell us when our services, Applications, or infrastructure diverge from “normal.” However, Orchestrators like Cloud Foundry and cloud providers have created a new world of dynamic infrastructure where normal is changing constantly, making it quite difficult to define. Beverage manufacturer delivers vendor branded coolers to gas stations, sports cluds and retail stores. Manufacturer is looking for ways how to make sure that coolers are working properly (e.g. control motor of cooler), stores apply to agreements (monitor door opening times:If this takes to long time then potentially other goods than these drinks are in the cooler which is not allowed) and customer experience is best (e.g. monitor temperature of drinks).
